INFORMATION ABOUT TS BULLDOG

The unit, which was named after HMS Bulldog, was opened in May 2009, and was the very first unit of the Navy Training Corps.

It is based at the Kingsway Community Centre in Quedgeley, Gloucester. It is the only unit that parades twice a week, and this is only possible due to the dedication of the staff and the support of the committee. The unit receives support and recognition from Quedgeley Parish Council, and this is due to the hard work that the staff and cadets have made within the community. Local events are fully supported by the unit.

The chairman, Tony Smith, has worked hard at raising the funds that are needed to ensure a successful unit, and he has been supported by staff and cadets attending these events. As well as providing the necessary funds for normal training the unit paid for cadets to visit Dunkirk and Ypres in September 2010.

UNIT ACTIVITIES - additional to normal Parade nights

1^st Monday every month                         Shooting  &  Swimming

Last Thursday every month                    Fun night

Cadets have taken part in expedition training on the Cotswold Hills and walking part of the Cotswold Way

Below are the awards for 2009. These were presented at the unit on January 14^th 2010 in front of guests, parents, friends and family. The unit also witnessed the handing over of command from Commander Eric Moore to Sub Lieutenant Tony Chaston.
