Captain of Corps
Captain Richard Tyrrell Navy Training Corps

Appointed Captain Navy Training Corps on its formation in 2009 having previously spent 34 years in the Sea Cadet Corps, during which time I started two new Units at Malvern in 1980 and Evesham in 1987.

During my Sea Cadet Career I commanded three Units at Malvern, Evesham and Cheltenham. The latter years in my Sea Cadet Career was spent as Assistant District Officer and also District Officer until retiring in 2009.

Another position I hold is that of Chairman of FINTO (the Federation of Independent Nautical Training Organisations) which was formed 25 years ago to represent Independent Units throughout the UK. As a Champion of Independent Units, I will be focusing on working towards opening more Independent Units and getting more recognition for them.

Commander Eric Moore Navy Training Corps

Prior to joining the NTC I served with the Sea Cadets between 1984 and 1992. During this time I was the First Lieutenant at Stroud and Cheltenham Units before becoming CO at Cheltenham.

I specialised in shooting, drill and power boating and was responsible for organising the Shooting Competition for Severn District. I left the SCC as studying shift work and a young family prevented me from putting in the time to run the unit effectively.

I have a Masters Degree in Business Administration, a Certificate in Education, and a variety of awards in relation to training, development and health and safety. I served in the police for over 30 years and was involved in management training and development as well as operational duties.

Training Commander
Commander Ron Hale Navy Training Corps

Former Royal Navy Petty Officer (missile man). Joined the RN straight from school and attended training at HMS Ganges.

Served on ships HMS Londonderry, Lowestoft, Grafton (type 14 version), HMS Bellerophon (HMS Belfast + Rame Head) and ashore at HMS Excellent, the home of the Navy Gunnery School. On leaving the navy joined Thames Valley Police before retiring in 1998.

Currently employed as a security advisor for Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust.

Served in the Sea Cadets 1975-2006, Commanding Officer Aylesbury & Marlow Units, Assistant District Officer and finally as an Area Staff Officer.
Specialist subjects drill + ceremonial, seamanship and multi-activities which include power boating, piping, shooting and adventure training.
A Jack of All Trades who gets involved in a variety of activities.

Offshore Commander
Captain David Bainbridge Merchant Navy, Navy Training Corps

Captain David Bainbridge Treasurer to the Corps, and at present commanding Sail Training Tall ships, having previously been a Pilot on the Bristol Channel for 24 years.

Captain Dave started his seafaring career in 1958 having been a member of the Sea Cadet Corps for 3 years in Liverpool.

I joined the cadet forces whilst at School, and as part of the army section of a CCF attached to 3rd Battalion Royal Fusiliers progressed to the rank of Cadet CSM before departing for the world of university and a legal career.

In 2011 I was fortunate to meet the Captain of the Corps, and was asked if I would like to join the marine company at TS Revenge, Malvern. I joined in November 2011 as a Sergeant and accepted the post of Detachment Commander shortly afterwards.

In January 2012 I was appointed to the National Executive as the Corps’ Legal Officer and was promoted to Lieutenant in May 2012.
I am also currently the Company Commander for Phoenix Company (Marines), and the Officer in Command at TS Revenge, Malvern.

National Child Protection Officer

I was appointed National Child Protection Officer in March 2013, I have been with the corps since July 2009.

I was appointed Officer in Charge of Wyre Forest Unit in July 2009 and handed over command of the unit in June 2012 before taking up the position of Deputy Child Protection Officer in October 2012.

I have many Child Protection qualifications which I will be using to help train staff to the level that is required not only by law, but to help keep a high standard throughout the Navy Training Corps.

My current occupation is as a foster carer, so Child Protection is frontline in all aspects of my life. I feel that I can offer a lot to the Corps, but more importantly the staff and cadets.

Lt Cdr Carol Hale Navy Training Corps

Presently Lt Cdr Headquarters Staff Officer females also Regional Officer for Bucks, Beds and Herts.

Uniformed member of the Sea Cadets Corps from 1990-2005. Entered as Petty Officer and progressed to Lt and in Charge of Unit when I left.

2004 – 2009 involved with Cadet Corps then joined Navy Training Corps helped to setup the Corps. Just retired in 2011 after working the last 16 years for Buckinghamshire NHS.

I began working with the Navy Training Corps in June 2009 as a Civilian Instructor/Admin Officer assisting with setting-up the Wyre Forest Unit – TS Ocean. TS Ocean officially opened on the 3rd October 2009 and I successfully passed a Petty Officers course in March 2010.

I became Secretary for FINTO (UK) in September 2010 and joined the NEC as Secretary in April 2011. I am pleased to announce that I have recently been promoted to Sub Lieutenant and am now the Officer in Charge at TS Ocean.

Professionally I am Premises Manager for a Rentokil Initial site and my previous roles have included Operations Trainer and Energywatch Investigator; giving me a wide variety of skills and training.
