We are very happy to announce that MP Mark Garnier has accepted our offer of being unit President for Wyre Forest, TS Ocean, see his profile. |
TS Ocean Opens – 2nd October 2009:
The ceremony took place on Friday in the grounds of Wolverley Memorial Hall at the former KD4 Scouts building. Mike Green, Sub Lieutenant of the Navy Training Corps and commanding officer of TS OCEAN, said: “The unit will teach youngsters aged eight to 18 the ways and means of the Royal Navy.” He explained this would range from learning how to tie knots to rifle shooting and sailing as well as the opportunity to work towards recognised qualifications.
Wyre Forest Navy Training Corps Unit Inspection:
Friday 9th September 2011 saw Wyre Forest Navy Training Corps Unit , TS Ocean, hold its Annual Inspection at its Headquarters at Wolverley, near Kidderminster.
The Inspection was carried out by the Captain of the Navy Training Corps, Captain Richard Tyrrell. TS Ocean was one of the first Navy Training Corps Units to be founded, and they have gone from strength to strength since their formation.
A very hard working Committee and some excellent Staff who apart from running their own Unit, help and offer their facilities to the other Units within the Corps. The Cadets were very smartly turned out, and have also been very busy this year sailing offshore with the Tall Ships Youth Sailing Trust. TS Ocean also works very hard in their local Community and can always be found supporting local events in and around the Wyre Forest District. Well done
Wyre Forest on a very good Inspection.
